When Dorothy Robles – who lives at Augustana Apartments in Bridgeport – headed out to a doctor's appointment Saturday morning, she discovered her car had been broken into.
"I couldn't believe it and I was furious and absolutely heartbroken that eleven of my neighbors were also victims," Robles told News 12.
Neighbors say burglars targeted the vehicles in the community's front parking lot early Saturday morning, leaving windows smashed out and residents demanding increased security at the North End Senior Complex.
"Some of them are veterans…whoever did it should be ashamed of themselves," said Councilwoman Michelle Lyons, who represents the district.
Police are investigating the burglaries, Lyons said.
