Bridgeport officials are inviting the public to attend a groundbreaking Monday for the city's new Bassick High School.

It's a $120 million project that officials say will help create jobs and level the playing field for Bridgeport students.

"We've been working so hard to make sure we can get a state-of-the-art facility — a location with sports fields — for Bassick students going forward. Now the time has come. I'm very excited about it,” says Mayor Joe Ganim.

The groundbreaking will be held Monday at 11 a.m. 115 Broad St.
