Bridgeport officials discussed their options Tuesday to restore the city's Majestic Theater.

Mayor Joseph Ganim joined the city's small and minority business owners and the project's key investor.

The developer wants to refurbish the theater while adding apartments, retail and entertainment space.

Fred Gee Jr., the director of the city's Small and Minority Business Enterprise, says the development will boost small businesses.

"Every small business needs two things," he says. "Access to capital and access to opportunity."

The developer hopes to break ground later this year.
