Bridgeport police said they are investigating the death of a man whose body was found on the East Side as "a suspicious untimely death."

The discovery was made Saturday afternoon at a residence on Brooks Street near Boston Avenue, according to investigators.

Neighbor Tyrell Parker said he saw a heavy police presence and wants the victim's family to know "they're not alone."

"It's unfortunate and just, hopefully, the police find whoever did it, and I just hope that the family just stays blessed and I keep them in my prayers," Parker said. "It's definitely scary because you don't know what truly happened in the situation."

Police said the state medical examiner conducted an autopsy on Sunday.
