Bridgeport Police Department has reached a five-year tentative agreement to increase salaries and lower health insurance costs for staff, officials say.
Mayor Joe Ganim says the city and the police union reached the agreement this week.
The mayor says the new agreement will help with the recruitment and retention of police officers.
Mayor Ganim says the contract has been signed and moved to the Bridgeport City Council for final review.
