Bridgeport police responded to two overnight shootings in the city.
Police say one incident happened around 2:15 a.m. Sunday when patrol officers heard gunshots in the area of Main and Chapel streets.
A Derby man, 31, was found on Chapel Street with multiple gunshot wounds. Police believe the crime took place at a vacant lot at 1270-1290 Main Street and that the victim appears to have been targeted.
One hour earlier, police say a man was attacked on William Street. A Shelton man, 43, was leaving Pleasant Moments Cafe when he was hit in the head and robbed of a necklace. He was shot several times in the legs.
The suspect was wearing all-black clothing and a black mask.
Both men were taken to hospitals and are in stable condition.
Police are asking anyone with information on either incident to call them.
