Gov. Ned Lamont is expected to announce a new expedited process for filing unemployment claims in Connecticut.
Lamont is expected to make the announcement during a press conference at 4 p.m. today.
Congress also approved an extra $600 a week in unemployment benefits for those filing.
Connecticut leaders will announce a timeline for getting the money out to people.
Elizabeth Conti, of Norwalk, says she lost her bartending job six weeks ago and still hasn't seen any money from the state's labor department.
Conti's application was approved, but the state labor department website won't process her claim each week.
The Norwalk resident says she can't even get through to anyone working at the department on the phone either.
