Bridgeport residents say thieves have been stealing parts of security fencing along I-95.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation owns the land the fences are on.

Cecil Young lives in the neighborhood and is calling on the DOT to investigate and stop the problem. He says whoever is responsible needs to be held accountable for disabling hundreds of feet of fence.

"They need to be caught and charged. We need to find out where these pipes are being taken to and sold, find out what junkyard they're going to, because these are not just regular pipes. These are special pipes and they'll get a special price," Young said on Sunday.

He added that fences have been stolen for more than a year.

News 12 reached out to the DOT but had not heard back as of Sunday night.
