Officials announced Sunday that alternate-side street parking was in effect until further notice in Bridgeport to help with snow removal.
Mayor Joe Ganim went out to survey the city and checked in with crews who were making sure every street was cleared.
"Some slept on cots last night in order to rest between their shifts, so I give them a lot of credit," Ganim said.
City officials thanked residents for clearing the snow around fire hydrants. Residents said the cleanup made for a good drill for snowstorms to come.
Authorities said that parking on snow emergency streets is still banned, and vehicles parked on those streets will be towed.
