Some superintendents were in disbelief over the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference's decision to begin a high school sports season now at this phase of the
pandemic.
Bridgeport Superintendent Michael Testani says although the
state has signed off on certain sports such as basketball, he still doesn't
believe it's safe for school competition. He took a similar stance in the fall
regarding football and girls volleyball.
“I don't think it's worth one kids’ life. I'm not afraid to
make the decision, I'll make it. We're not going to play at this time. It's not
safe and I think it'll be safer when we can get kids back playing without
masks,” he told News 12.
Norwalk athletic directors will make their decision on Friday.
