Bridgeport residents will have the city's parks and beaches all to themselves when they open for the season this weekend.
The city began issuing park permits at Central High School Monday.
The permit will be the only way to get into Seaside Park, Beardsley Park and St. Mary's by the Sea beginning Thursday.
Mayor Joe Ganim says the start of the season will be for city families only.
There will also be permit drive-thru sessions at Central High School on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Residents must have their car registration, license, and $15 in cash.
