M&T Bank opened a branch in Bridgeport's East End neighborhood earlier this week, making it the first financial institution to have location there in decades.
A celebration was held at its location in the Honey Locust Square Development on Stratford Avenue.
Branch Manager Calvin M. Jones II said there has not been a bank in the East End in over 20 years.
Officials say the new branch will offer financial services and will help support the community's economic wellbeing and revitalization efforts.
