Primary elections were held on Tuesday across the state, among those elections was Bridgeport Democratic mayoral race between the Incumbent Joe Ganim and his opponent John Gomes.
Ganim took in 4,189 votes, while John Gomes pulled in 3,952.
Ganim told Bridgeport residents what they can expect the next four years to look like under his leadership.
"Quality of life, neighborhoods, really making sure the city stays sound financially, Public safety is a top priority, hold the line on taxes, and make it the best place we can for the people that live here," said Ganim.
