"Helping to bring money into the city is a great thing, especially during these tough economic times," said Eric Bryson, who owns Miss Thelma's Restaurant on Fairfield Avenue.

"We're proud to be one of many Bridgeport restaurants taking part in this effort because it's a great way for our small business community to shine," Bryson said.

"Bridgeport has any amazingly diverse array of restaurants and that's what we're highlighting here," Chandersingh said.

Mayor Joe Ganim said Restaurant Week is "an economic boon" for the city.
