It has been a very windy day across the borough with widespread 40 to 50 mph gusts earlier this afternoon. While the wind subsides later this evening, it will only be temporary. The wind is not the only thing going down, though, the temperatures will as well. The elevated fire risk is also expected to diminish some.
It will be cold, in the upper 30s to 40s waking up first thing Saturday. Temperatures will briefly surge into the lower 60s for the afternoon with a stray sprinkle or shower possible for northern parts of the borough between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. That is a part of a cold front that will bring winterlike weather back to the borough. Temperatures tumble Saturday evening and night, with lows down to near-freezing Sunday morning.
With 25 to 35 mph gusts from Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning, it will feel like the lower 20s on Sunday morning, more typical for the middle of winter. It will feel like the 20s and 30s on Sunday, despite plentiful sun, with actual highs in the upper 30s. The wind goes down and the temperatures go back up on Monday, but it comes with rain. Showers are likely after midnight and last through Monday afternoon. Another shower or two is possible midweek next week, otherwise the rest of the week will be dry and seasonably chilly with highs near 50 and lows near 40.
