You may have seen people giving extra hugs today, because July 21 is "Global Hug Your Kid Day."
Many Bronx moms and dads celebrated by giving their little ones big hugs.
The day was designated in 2008 to encourage families to show love and affection for one another. 
Bronx parents say "Hug Your Kid Day" should be celebrated every day, because showing love to your children and family members is important.
