Bronx residents bundled up Friday as the coldest day of the season pushed wind chills near 6 degrees, with residents doing whatever they could to stay warm.
“I’ve got three layers,” one Bronx resident said. Others listed off scarves, hats and long johns as must-haves to face the bitter temperatures.
“It’s freezing outside,” another resident said. “Are you kidding? Of course I feel it.”
Many said they’re also bracing for seasonal sickness and longing for summer. “I think I’m flying somewhere hot,” one man joked.
City officials remind tenants that landlords must keep apartments at least 68 degrees during weather like this. Residents who still lack heat after contacting their landlord can call 311 to file a complaint.
