Brookfield police say K-9 Major, a member of their force, has lymphoma.

The diagnosis comes with a life expectancy between 1 and 3 months.

Police say they're "hopeful he will beat those odds."

For now, they say Major will continue to do what he loves, which is work patrol, for as long as he is able to.
