Businesses that sell romantic gifts like flowers and chocolate are hustling to fulfill orders as Valentine's Day quickly approaches.
Coreen's Bridge Floral in Fairfield says Mother's Day is their busiest holiday of the year, but Valentine's Day is certainly the most romantic.
Veteran florist Coreen Pace says not only do the flowers need to look lovely, but they also have to suit the relationship status.
While she works overtime in the days leading up to Valentine's Day, she also offers advice to the lovestruck.
"I'm getting a lot this year of the younger boys and they don't know, they just started dating. I always like to start off, not with the whole dozen roses, I always say, let's start off with tulips or a single rose, just to not overwhelm them," said Pace.
BE Chocolat wants to break the mold
when it comes to holiday candy.
"The chocolate is imported from Belgium, everything is handmade right
here," said Benoit Racquet, at BE
Chocolat.
Even with the
extra hours it's open, the shop is packed before the holiday.
