Jews across the borough are lighting their menorahs to mark the beginning of Hanukkah.
Hanukkah is the Jewish holiday that commemorates the rededication of the temple in Jerusalem when a lamp in the temple lasted for eight days on one day's worth of oil.
The menorah has nine candles, one for each day of the miracle, and an extra candle which is used to light the eight others.
