Carbon monoxide scare sends 7 to hospital in Naugatuck

Seven people are lucky to be alive after carbon monoxide levels in their Naugatuck home reached more than 62 times the safe limit.

The Naugatuck Fire Department says it happened Saturday night on Allerton Road.

Officials say EMS was called after a 5-year-old began having trouble breathing.

Firefighters found carbon monoxide levels over 500 parts per million inside the home—anything above 8 is considered unsafe.

All seven people were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.
