Toxic chemicals have been found in homes near the former landfill Scolfieldtown Park.
Three homes near the park tested positive for unsafe levels of the pesticides dieldrin and chlordane. Results on more homes are expected in coming weeks.
The pesticides are known to cause cancer and organ damage.
Bottled water is being distributed to contaminated homes. Stamford is planning to put filtration systems on those homes to replace bathwater.
