Catholic Charities says it is delivering meals to hundreds of homebound senior citizens across southwestern Connecticut while also performing wellness checks on them amid the hot weather.
The charity's senior nutrition program provides up to 250 meals a day, seven days a week.
Catholic Charities serves a number of local towns including Norwalk and Stamford.
Members say the work they do is even more important in extreme heat or cold because they also make sure the homebound seniors are doing OK if they don't answer their door.
