A detective was injured in a shooting Thursday in Waterbury while responding to an attempted carjacking on Clairmont Street.

Ring video footage captured the dramatic moments of the incident.

Two suspects are visible in the video: one flees the scene while the other, armed with a gun, remains.

Police say Detective Ronald Sackett was shot in the leg by Arian Perez-Feliciano, who opened fire during the confrontation.

Body-camera footage from Sackett shows the exact moment he was hit and when he returned fire.

Following the incident, three suspects appeared in court on Friday. Perez-Feliciano faces charges of attempted murder, among others.
