The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Thursday that swine flu has spread beyond people to pets.
The agency says the first case of swine flu in a cat was confirmed in Iowa. Dr. Joan Poster, a veterinarian in Westport, advises pet owners not to worry. Poster says the best way to know if your pet is sick is by checking their breathing.
Poster adds owners should take the same precautions against spreading swine flu to pets as they would with people.
