Saint John's Episcopal Church in Stamford held a service on Sunday morning to honor veterans and their families.

A luncheon followed and everyone was invited to share a meal and thank veterans for their service.

U.S. Navy veteran Bill Schwartz attended the event and says his faith has always been a big part of his life, especially when he served.

"My church, I've been going to this church. My wife and I were married 55 years ago in this church and my children were baptized here and it's a wonderful church and for them to do this for today is magnificent," said Schwartz.
