The Food and Drug Administration urges consumers to throw out certain lots of SD Biosensor Pilot COVID-19 at-home tests over potential contamination.
The FDA says there are concerns of bacterial contamination in the test kit's liquid solution.
Contact with the liquid could risk safety and impact the accuracy of the test, according to the agency.
The kits impacted have been distributed by Roche Diagnostics to certain retailers, including 500,000 to CVS and 16,000 to Amazon.
The FDA says none of the impacted lots were distributed through federal testing programs.
