The NYPD says a 5-year-old boy is recovering after falling from a fifth-floor window at the Sheepshead Bay Houses on Tuesday afternoon.

The city’s Department of Health requires window guards in apartments where children aged 10 and under live.
NYCHA did not say whether the window ever had guards installed, only that the incident is under investigation.
Neighbors said the child’s mother was home at the time.
The boy suffered a broken arm, according to neighbors.
