Christmas Wish: Puppy with limited use of his back legs seeks forever home

A dog with limited use of his back legs is looking for a forever home.
Porter was taken in as a stray from Louisiana by the Hudson Valley Animal Rescue and is now in a foster home.
The Hudson Valley Animal Rescue says he was hit by a car at only 6 weeks old and left on the side of the road.
Porter is currently 5 months old and weighs 14 pounds and uses a cart with wheels to get himself around.
"I would say people shy away from special needs dogs because they do tend to be a little more work, says Samantha Vumbico, director of HVARS.
He may not be able to climb stairs, but Porter is potty-trained and may eventually get use of his back legs again.
People at the Hudson Valley Animal Rescue say that mostly, he just wants to share his positive attitude with whomever is ready for it.
"Hopefully, he'll be in a home for the holidays," says Vumbico. "He will bring somebody a lot of joy. He's a very happy boy."
