It's been 10 years since the Rams last state baseball title, and after road wins in the first two rounds of the Class LL state tournament, the program is looking to end the decade-long drought. "We're a really talented team and I think we haven't really shown it how we wanted to this whole year, and I think now it's all coming together," said senior Danny Rogers

"The boys have done an unbelievable job beating two very good teams back-to-back on the road which is hard to do. I think part of the reason we're so resilient is the league we play in. The FCIAC, I believe, is the best baseball league in the state. Playing those schools over and over and over again makes you tough," said head coach Anthony Bloss.
The Rams didn't make the FCIAC tournament, but Bloss said the time off actually gave them an advantage in preparing for the state tournament.
"There's only eight teams with that dream still alive and we're one of them so, we're going to work our tails off to be ready for Saturday," he added.
New Canaan plays at the No. 1 seed in Class LL Newington Saturday with the first pitch slated for 2 p.m.
