The City of Bridgeport closed Seaside Park and Beardsley Park on Monday due to safety concerns over flooding.

Park goers unaware of the closures were forced to turn around and leave.

"It could have been a lot worse, and nobody knows what's coming down the line from down north,” said Jose Ojeda, of Bridgeport. “I believe that they made the right decision."

Officials are urging the public to be careful of debris as workers clear Bridgeport roads and sidewalks.
