The city of Milford raised the Juneteenth flag at city hall on June 14, as Mayor Ben Blake read a proclamation.
Juneteeth is coming up on Saturday, June 19. It marks the date when the last of the United States' slaves learned of their freedom.
A Juneteenth celebration is taking place Saturday on the Milford Green from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
