Crews work to clean up Weston after Thursday's storm
Cleanup crews remained in Weston Friday night after parts of western Connecticut saw significant damage from Thursday's storm.
Officials say several roads, including Godfrey Road, were closed off due to downed trees and power lines.
Eversource said it would continue to work as quickly as possible until power was restored to any affected homes.
Emergency management director and police officer Joe Miceli had said the police department received dozens of service calls between Thursday night and Friday. The department called in extra officers, and the Public Works Department was fully staffed to help aid with the restoration process.
Eversource brought in extra crews, and several tree companies were called in.
Miceli encouraged residents to be patient as they worked. He also warned to use caution when driving through town.
