The pleasant Fall chill continues into our Wednesday with seasonable temperatures near 60 degrees. Clouds increase throughout the day, making it feel slightly cooler outside. Despite the clouds, weather conditions will remain dry with light winds. A warmup arrives over the next few days.
A surge of warm air moves in on Thursday and Friday. Expect high temperatures in the upper 60s to low 70s, loads of sunshine and noticeably breezy conditions. It will bring a few sprinkles North of the city before sunrise on Friday and knock temperatures down to seasonable by Halloween.
Halloween and trick-or-treating looks ideal for any outdoor festivities. Highs are in the low 60s, dropping to the 40s near 50 degrees by nightfall. Add a thick sweater or a jacket with your costumes for any late night plans.
Don't forget that Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend at 2:00 a.m., so get ready to set those clocks back. On Sunday, sunrise will be at 6:26 a.m. and sunset at 4:52 p.m. If you're running or a spectator at the NYC marathon on Sunday, it will be dry and cool with a brighter sky. As the race starts, temperatures will be cold in the 40s. It will feel slightly milder during the afternoon as temperatures climb to the mid 60s.
We're currently on day 11 with no measurable rainfall and the latest trend extends our dry streak into next week. The storm system we were watching for Sunday night into Tuesday, looks to stay south of the region. We'll continue to keep you up to date with any changes. However, temperatures are still trending warmer than normal into the first week of November in the 60s and 70s.
