The smoke plume from the Canadian wildfires has moved north of the New York City area. The humidity is noticeably lower into the overnight and will feel refreshing.

The smoke plume is forecasted to remain much less dense for the upcoming week so air quality issues will be limited for the next few days. However, there will be storms Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday that could potentially be severe.

Monday: Sunny Skies

Monday will feature plenty of sunshine and a light wind from the north shifting south. There's a low risk for rip currents on the Atlantic facing beaches. Temperatures are around 80.

Tracking Mid-Week Storms

Tuesday will start off dry, but there is a risk for severe thunderstorms in the afternoon through the first half of Wednesday. These storms could also produce localized flooding.

Late Week: Summertime Returns

After the storms move out on Wednesday, the next days will consist of typical summertime weather with a mix of sun and clouds and a low risk for rain through next weekend.
