WHAT'S NEW: A sharp cold front is moving through the area and will deliver the coldest air we've seen since last spring. Temperatures will plummet into the 30s everywhere tonight, and colder spots may come close to freezing. A frost advisory goes up overnight - so protect the plants, because this is a signal that our growing season is coming to an end. The winds will also stay brisk through the night and into tomorrow, and they will create some colder wind chills, where it will feel like the lower 30s just about everywhere for the morning commute.
WHAT'S NEXT: A large cool dome of higher pressure moves in and will give us cooler than normal temperatures and dry weather. Temperatures the next couple of days will top out in the 50s. This will be short lived because the end of the week and weekend will be a lot warmer. Temperatures could return to the 70s by then with more sunshine. Unfortunately, there will not be any rain past the light broken showers that pass through early this evening. The area remains abnormally dry.
NIGHT SKY: Comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas or A3 will be visible in the early evening sky this week. It is visible to the un-aided eye, although binoculars or a small telescope will enhance the view. But, it's not needed to see it in the western sky. Be sure to look soon after sunset because the comet will set. If you have trouble spotting it, look for the planet Venus - it will be just to the right in the sky.
Tonight: Mostly clear and COLD.  Breezy. Low 39 degrees.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny and breezy. High 56 degrees.
Wednesday: Mostly sunny. High 55 degrees.
Thursday: Mostly sunny. High 60 degrees.
