Community colleges in southwestern Connecticut are seeing record enrollment numbers, according to administrators.
Dr. David Levinson, president of Norwalk Community College, says enrollment has jumped almost 10 percent since last year. Bridgeport?s Housatonic Community College is also reporting a bigger than ever student boom.
School officials attribute the influx to the significant difference in tuition and an improving reputation for community colleges.
?We have students who are phenomenally motivated, who are thirsting for knowledge,? says Levinson.
