Friends and family came together Thursday to remember a Harding High School basketball player who was electrocuted last week on the train tracks in Bridgeport.
People who knew him say Angel Santiago was a brilliant young athlete with a promising future.
A fundraiser was held Thursday at Knowlton Park in Santiago's memory.
City leaders say they are working with MTA officials to extend the fence along Crescent Avenue, where Santiago was killed, as a safety measure to prevent similar incidents from taking place.
The family is asking for the public's help with funeral expenses. Donations can be made directly at Luz de Paz Funeral Home at 426 East Washington Ave.
