Religious and community leaders met Monday in response to a rash of shootings at churches and large gatherings around the country.
State police attended as well to present the strategies they use to combat violent behavior.
The Rev. Carl McCluster from Shiloh Baptist Church in Bridgeport says shootings like the ones at a church in Texas and at a Las Vegas concert could happen anywhere.
"It's critical -- why wait for something to happen? Let's be prepared, so that if something does happen, God forbid, that we are ready," he says.
