Community members are rallying behind a gym that lost its outside workout space when Mother Nature decided to hammer Connecticut with a nor'easter.
Gary Smith and Kristen McGovern, the owners of Strong on
Center in Easton, say the tent they used was an important part of their outdoor workouts. The two had been running the gym from their garage until COVID-19 hit.
So they used a wedding tent with heaters as a weightlifting and yoga studio where they were building a strong community.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the gym owners. So far, more than $5,000 has been raised.
Smith and McGovern say they feel for all the small businesses that don't have support. They say they are so proud to be able to witness all the love.
