The Yankee Institute hosted its Capitol Insiders' Breakfast at the Norwalk Inn Thursday morning.

Yankee Institute is a public policy organization that aims to help ensure Connecticut is affordable, livable and workable.

Panelists discussed several major proposals now moving through the 2026 session and highlighted measures that could significantly affect Connecticut's economic future.

"A lot of the cost of CT and CT public policy is hidden from the people who need to pay for it," said Carol Platt Liebau, president of the Yankee Institute. "And what we want to make sure of is that those costs don't come back later in higher taxes, in unfunded mandates and in a lot of regulations and other costs that make it harder for the people of CT to stay here."

The Yankee Institute says it plans to continue hosting events throughout the session to help residents stay informed and engaged.
