Congregation Beth El celebrated their annual Mitzvah Day on Sunday by doing good deeds around Norwalk.
The children of the congregation were taught about Mitzvah, which means good deed done, while they prepared brownies and lasagna for the Open Door Shelter in Norwalk. They are also collection food and clothing for the poor, and are raising money for the Connecticut Food Bank.
Residents of the Norwalk community are also taking part in giving back by donating blood.
The blood drive is held until 3 p.m. today.
