The Connecticut Department of Public Health confirmed on Tuesday that a second person has died from vibrio.
Vibrio is a rare illness caused by consuming shellfish or exposing open wounds to salt water.
News 12 reported last month on the first person that died.
The two people who have died were between 60 and 80 years old. There is no word yet on their identities.
