Connecticut flags at half-staff in honor of Sandra Day O'Connor, first female Supreme Court justice

Gov. Ned Lamont has issued an order for all Connecticut flags to be flown at half-staff, paying homage to the groundbreaking legacy of Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, the first woman to serve on the nation's highest court.
Today, the funeral service for Justice O'Connor is being held at the Washington National Cathedral, commemorating her remarkable contributions.
Initially nominated by President Ronald Reagan in 1981, Justice O'Connor made history with her appointment and served on the Supreme Court until her retirement in 2006.
Her passing on Dec. 1 at the age of 92 marked the end of an era in American jurisprudence.
