A Connecticut group is warning residents about a door-to-door scam targeting seniors.

In a Facebook post, it states that there have been reports about someone going door-to-door posing as a representative from one of the state agencies on aging. They say the person asks for personal information, including Medicare details.

The suspected scammer is also encouraging seniors to purchase funeral contracts.

Advocates for the aging say if someone like that comes to your door don't tell them anything.

Anyone wanting to check if something is legitimate or a scam can call the Senior Medicare Patrol number at 800-994-9422.
