The state held its annual tribute to the 152 Connecticut residents killed in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks Monday evening in Westport.
The annual ceremony takes place at the Sherwood Island State Park memorial each year. In previous years, the governor has spoken, and the names of the victims are read aloud. Then, family members of the victims proceed to the memorial to lay a single flower in memory of their fallen loved ones.
The biggest change since the ceremony's start has been in attendance. The first year more than 500 people attended, but this year only 300 people were expected, a slight drop from last year.
