Connecticut man arrested for attempted murder after stabbing in Putnam County

Investigators learned that the victim and Nestor Rodriguez, 27, from Danbury, Connecticut became engaged in a verbal dispute which quickly escalated into a physical encounter.

A Connecticut man has been arrested for attempted murder in Putnam County.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Department says that deputies were dispatched to the La Patrona Mexican Restaurant at 182 Route 22 in Southeast for a dispute in progress with a knife involved on Oct. 16 around  4 a.m.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they found a large crowd outside the restaurant and quickly located the victim, a 27-year-old male who had been stabbed in the neck and stomach area.
The victim was taken to Danbury Hospital for treatment.
Investigators learned that the victim and Nestor Rodriguez, 27, from Danbury, Connecticut became engaged in a verbal dispute which quickly escalated into a physical encounter. They say Rodriguez stabbed the victim multiple times.
Rodriguez was located later that day, taken into custody without incident, and is now facing numerous charges including attempted murder  and assault.
He was arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court and remanded to the Putnam County Jail on bail.
