The Connecticut Post Mall in Milford is partially reopening for business Wednesday as part of Connecticut's Phase 1 reopening.
Mall officials say about 20 of the shopping center's 130 stores will be a part of the reopening, with stores like Macy's reopening later in the week.
General manager Ken Sterba says the building got a hygiene makeover, from bathroom barriers to state-of-the-art UV cleaners for escalator handrails.
Sterba says the mall is opening up at half capacity, but doesn't know how many shoppers will be showing up.
Mayor Ben Blake says as Milford retail opens back up, social distancing is more important than ever to keep COVID-19 under control.
The mall will also be open with reduced hours, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
The malls in Trumbull, Norwalk and Stamford are also planning on reopening Wednesday.
