A Sacred Heart professor is calling the controversy surrounding President Obama's address to school children alarming.
Conservatives have been crying foul over what the White House is calling an education pep talk. Right-wingers are accusing the president of using the speech as a political tool to influence young minds.
Dr. Gary Rose, chairman of Sacred Heart's Government and Politics Department, says the hullabaloo points to how partisan the country has become.
"It's alarming that the American people have become so intensely ideological and polarized, and that's not good for the republic," says Rose.
