Construction work in Throgs Neck is becoming a pain for some residents.
Neighbors say a project to improve the sewer system on Waterbury Avenue between Stadium and Vincent began in mid-November and was supposed to wrap up in December. The work continues now well into June.
Parking, noise, dust and lack of transparency are just some of the issues frustrating residents in the area. Construction on the sewage line has come to a halt, and a Con Edison spokesperson says that's because the city requested that the utility temporarily move electrical lines.
Normal construction can resume after Con Edison completes the moving of electrical lines. As of now, there is no timetable for when the entire project will be completed.
The Department of Design and Construction issued a statement, saying, "We fully understand the residents' concerns and want to assure them that we are working as quickly as we can to complete the project."
