Seafaring Connecticut residents are bracing themselves for a season of high gas prices.
In some areas, the cost of fuel for powerboats has hit $4.19 per gallon. Storeowners say even if prices are low now, they will likely spike as the season gets under way.
The Rex Store at Norwalk's Cove Marina has held its gas prices just under $4. The store manager says prices are low since his fuel shipment came in January before the price spike. When that supply runs out, prices will break the $4 mark, according to the manager.
Boat owners say they'll likely scale back their boating trips in both distance and frequency due to money concerns.
There are 120,000 registered boaters in the state.
